After her draw in February, Ebonie Jones is keen to quickly get back into the winning slot. I spoke to Andrew Fairley
When and why boxing started:
I started boxing at 12 years old. I first boxed when I was 10 and switched to boxing because I liked boxing way more than kicking.
Who is your favorite fighter and why?
I love Mike Tyson, I watched him a lot when I was little and was amazed at his style and his strength.
What’s the best fight you’ve seen, either live or on TV?
It was the last fight which was one of the best I’ve seen is Lee Wood vs Michael Conlan.
What is your best boxing achievement so far?
I would say I won the European Under-22 Championship when I was in the GB team.
Who is the strongest opponent you have faced and why?
There were a lot of them but surely it could have been an opponent from an Eastern European country.
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a boxer?
I would say my strength is my heart and my will to win, weakness I am very cruel to myself even when I win.
What is your best advice for boxing training?
I would say you have to do your business on the road. Some people may think it’s not important, but for me, I think it’s essential.
What is your favorite dish and restaurant?
My favorite dish is a roast dinner! It must be home cooked by mom or naan!
Who are your best boxing friends?
Demie Jade we went to fight for England together. Also a female boxer named Scarlett used to go to the Guilford City Boxing Club.
What other athlete would you like to be?
I don’t want to be anyone else.
What’s the last movie or TV show you watched?
Wild flower, A film about a Scottish country singer. I love it!
Who would you play in a movie of your life?
Chloe Grace Moretz because my nanny says I kinda look like her and she’s on Kickass!
Have you ever had the shock of the stars? If so, who was the star?
No, but I will if I ever meet mike tyson.
When was the last time you cried and why?
I can not remember.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Maybe you’re still true to yourself and don’t care what other people think.
What’s the worst rumor you’ve heard about yourself?
People will always have a lot to say, but it goes in one ear and out the other.

I love country music, it’s what I run to and train for. I listen to it every day.
